My Chinese Picture Dictionary is designed to help students to learn Chinese words in meaningful contexts through engaging illustrations and photos. It includes 15 thematic units, 142 graphic topics and more than 4,000 commonly used words. The 15 units are categorized according to the International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education published by the Office of Chinese Language Council International. They are further specified into 142 topics to cover all aspects of daily life. The word lists of the dictionary include both single word entries and phrases. Nouns, verbs as well as many prepositions and adjectives are defined by situational artwork and presented in thematic scenes. To demonstrate the natural use of words in conjunction with one another, many phrases are also introduced.
Unlike many other dictionaries on the market, My Chinese Picture Dictionary presents new vocabulary that is useful not only in Chinese culture but also in Western societies. This enables students to learn and use Chinese words to talk about different cultures. This is the best picture dictionary I＇ve seen． What I appreciate is that the subject matter covers Chinese culture． This is definitely worth the price whether you are beginning or advanced．

．．． the advantage of this book which other visual dics dont have is that is not overloaded with irrelevant words and the pages appear simple and not chaotic at all :)
